20 February 2015
Local people in Mablethorpe are set to get a boost to their IT skills thanks to our support for a new brand new Digi Access Point at the Coastal Centre. We are providing a computer hub for use by the local community and there will be free access during the centre opening times and volunteers will always be on hand help you get online.
Mablethorpe residents are invited to drop into the Digi Access Point Open Day on Wednesday 25 February, 10.30am – 2.30pm, to see the new IT equipment for themselves.
The access point will be opened by Mayor Councillor Tony Howard at 11am and there will be a range of activities throughout the morning, including digital demonstrations, help to apply for rented homes through Homes Direct and a free prize draw to win a tablet!
The Digi Access Point is part of Waterloo’s initiative to help residents get online in friendly and comfortable surroundings. Our first digi-lounges are proving very popular at Barratt Court, our extra care scheme in Skegness, and at de Montfort House, an inner-city tower block in Leicester. Getting online can help you to save money, apply for jobs, keep in touch with friends and family and find a new home.
If you can’t make the Open Day, you are welcome to visit the centre Monday – Friday, 10am – 3.30pm, even if you have no previous experience of using computers. There will be drop-in one-to-one IT advice on Wednesdays and help to apply online for housing on Tuesdays. The Coastal Centre can be found next to The Boatshed at 32 Victoria Road, LN12 2AQ.
