Any application for Universal Credit is done online, then followed up by an appointment at your local Jobcentre. To claim online, please visit the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP) website. You must make sure you have the following available when you make your claim:
your National Insurance number
information on your tenancy
the amount of rent you pay
your bank account details
You will need to provide evidence of your rent amount to be able to claim housing costs. To get this, log into Your Waterloo where you can download a letter and a copy of a recent rent statement.

Once you have completed your claim, it is important that you remember to telephone the Jobcentre as instructed on the claim form to make your follow up appointment. If you do not do this, your claim may be withdrawn.
