Tenant Adviser

As a Tenant Adviser you will work with staff and other tenants to guide Waterloo’s decision making process. You will be expected to provide a customer focused view of how Waterloo should deliver its service to local communities.

Key roles

  • To attend Waterloo management meetings and attend opening events at new housing
    developments.
  • To take part in the tender process when selecting new contractors
  • To work with staff and provide objective insight on complaints with dissatisfied tenants.

Required skills

  • Basic IT skills
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Positive and objective outlook

Training and support

You will work with a regional Community Engagement Officer who will ensure that you have access to staff, documentation and any  other material required to carry out your role.

You will require training to be an effective Tenant Adviser, this will include:

  • Introduction to social housing
  • Governance and compliance
  • Waterloo’s complaints procedure

Level of commitment

You will be expected to meet with other Tenant  Advisers in your region a minimum of 4 times a year.

You will work to a schedule with other Tenant  Advisers to ensure there is tenant representation at management meetings, and contractor meetings. You will typically be expected to attend 5-6 of these meetings a year.
