RENTED WAITING LIST
What's an 'application date'? This is the date from which you are registered. All applications are held in date order. Once you reach the top of one of the Waiting lists When a property becomes available to let, you will be contacted either by phone or by letter giving details of the property and area. Please reply promptly to ensure that you do not miss the opportunity. Ensure your application details are up to date and that we have a current correspondence address so that we may contact you quickly. (You can inform us of a change of contact details by emailing allocations@waterloo.org.uk) A lettings officer will interview you at your current accommodation. A housing
manager will then approve this interview. Once your interview is approved then
you will be made a formal offer of the property in writing. |

Signing for the property A housing officer will meet you at the property and take you through signing the tenancy agreement. You will sign either an Assured tenancy or a Starter Tenancy. If you refuse the property your application for the area will be removed, however any applications for other areas will remain current. I have been waiting a very long time Although Waterloo has a stock of around 3000 rental properties only 10% ( 300) of these are re-let every year. Waterloo does not have a stock of any empty properties at any time. Of the 10% that we let a year, half of these properties are let through the council waiting lists. This is called a nomination. Waterloo has nomination agreements with all the local authorities that cover our housing stock areas. What waiting lists are open? All our lists are updated on the first Monday of each month. You can contact us at any of the area offices. To find out how to get in touch, visit our contact page. Applications to the waiting lists can only be made when a list is open and available to join. Waterloo does not use paper application forms. Waterloo doesn’t accept council tenants to the general needs lists but will accept council tenants to the over 60’s retirement living schemes. If it is emergency housing you require, Waterloo would advise you to contact your local council for help and advice as Waterloo doesn’t have emergency housing stock or empty properties at any time. If you are looking for housing in the Solihull, Sandwell, East Staffordshire or Lichfield, please look at our choice based lettings page All of Waterloo’s new build rented properties are first let through the local authority nominations. You would need to speak to your local council office to enquire about being nominated. For part or outright ownership new properties please contact our home ownership department 0121 362 8989
