Rural housing

There is a lack of affordable housing in rural areas. Local people often find themselves priced out of the housing market and unable to live in their home villages, disrupting the balance and sustainability of communities.

New affordable homes help sustain village life and the wellbeing of rural communities.

How we can help

We have a wealth of experience in delivering affordable housing in partnership with rural communities. We work with local people to harness their needs and aspirations in order to deliver attractive, sensitive and well-planned housing schemes that address the shortage of affordable homes.

The process of developing affordable housing can seem daunting.  We understand housing markets and different tenures, and bring a range of skills and expertise to guide rural housing developments.

We're building many new homes in villages.  In rural East Lindsey, for example, we've worked with the District Council to build more than 450 new homes over the past four years.

Affordable rural housing

Our short film explains why affordable homes are so important to rural communities and the people who live there. It also outlines the help we offer to meet rural housing needs.
